AREPO x nyMusikks Komponistgruppe

AREPO, the Oslo/NYC-based contemporary music ensemble, performs works by seven NMK composers. Over the past three years, AREPO has focused on commissioning new works, exploring the ensemble’s unique instrumental blend, and shaping a cohesive soundscape that reveals expansive sonic possibilities. In this concert, presented in collaboration with NMK, the program features both original compositions and arrangements.

The seven works are markedly different from one another, resulting in an eclectic program. Together, they reflect the composers’ diverse interests and musical languages: explorations of time and memory, harmonies and disharmonies arising from just intonation, references to English Baroque music, improvisation and punk influences, and even a journey through a black hole.
